hi Jerry Im pretty sure your problem is running to lean,I recently fitted a rask drag pipe and within 50kilometers the end of the pipe where the baffle is held in and where the pipe leaves the cylinder it was turning a lovely golden brown,I rejetted the carb up from 134 to 145 the discoulering stoped and using a good chrome cleansr I managed to polish most of the pipe back to new,+ the bike goes really better at the top end,but I do have a small flat spot when I just nail the throttle open, but thats for next weekend last weekend I was fitting a new drive belt after finding a small crack after 28 thousand ks and 11years. Have fun playing around with the jets but the longer you leave it the more polishing you got to do
